Stockport Council commissioned Eamonn Murphy, a local artist to produce an illustration of the Underbanks, viewed from St Petersgate Bridge. The artwork was printed on to laminated aluminium sheets and has now been installed on Lower Hillgate, opposite the bottom of Mealhouse Brow.
This has brought more colour and creativity to the area and is just the beginning of our plans to brighten the historic street.
